Exclusive Small Group PHOTOGRAPHIC SAFARI'S

“The Kgalagadi”

On request

If you are a professional and don’t want to share an image or scene with another photographer this is for you!

This area of 3.6 million hectares was formed by the amalgamation of the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park in South Africa (proclaimed in 1931) and the Gemsbok National Park in Botswana, one of very few conservation areas of this magnitude left in the world.

The most famous landscapes in the “green Kalahari” area are, without a doubt, situated in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and the Augrabies Falls National Park. In the same breath I want to say that I don’t like to favour certain areas within the Northern Cape above others as they all interconnect with unique habitats and good people.

As far as I’m concerned I truly believe that it has little equal as a serious wildlife photographer’s location, as the total spectrum of the energy cycle is more visible here than elsewhere and it plays out against a backdrop that cannot easily be beaten. The quality of light as a result of the lack of cloud cover, the total number of hours of sunshine per annum and the scarcity of plants allow a photographer to have a ball. Add to this the life changing sequences of a cheetah or lion kill, or a cobra swallowing a lizard in a tree right next to you. …..or simply light playing on the bark of a majestic 300 year old camelthorn tree in an ancient dry river bed, a giraffe towering on a red sand dune, or the thousands of wild flowers that suddenly pop up after the  rain. Photographers dream and truly appreciated by most nature lovers on the planet.
